Myddelton College

Myddelton College in Denbigh, North Wales is located on the site of a former girls school which was founded in 1859 but closed in 2013. It was reopened with investment from IQ Schools Group in 2016 as an independent co-educational day and boarding school.

Myddelton College opened in September 2016 with 87 students, expanded to 164 in 2017 and had 230 students enrolled for September 2018, with a third of these students coming from our International Student Recruitment team. This makes Myddelton College the newest and fastest growing independent school in Wales.

On February 2018 in Shanghai’s Harbour City business and cultural district, IQ Schools Group entered into a formal investment deal in the presence of Mr Liam Fox Secretary of State for International Trade securing significant investment. We are very committed to high quality innovative education and the investment will be used to improve student experience, facilities and expand our international links.

Myddelton College is internationally recognised as an innovator in education. We are proud to have been awarded the global accolade of being a ‘Microsoft Associate Showcase School’ in recognition of our innovative approach to integrating technology into education. We do things very differently. From our use of 21st Century technology and skills in every lesson to our ground-breaking Learning Through The Outdoors programme, we have stripped away some of the shackles that prevent so many schools from delivering a curriculum that is truly suited to the modern age.

A co-educational day and boarding school for 9 – 18 year-olds, with local and international students, we aim to create a diverse student body which provides authentic exposure to a variety of cultures, with a view to preparing our students for life in the modern world.
